Adjustable Ptosis Crutches are used to keep an eyelid from drooping due to Ptosis. Individuals with Ptosis who are not candidates for reparable surgery or are looking for an alternative treatment may consider using this device as it allows easy adjustments for easy blinking of the eye and other eye movements.
These patients suffer from a condition called ocular myasthenia gravis which results in drooping eyelids, difficulty closing the eye or blinking, eye fatigue, double vision or crossed eyes.
A baby can be born with hereditary droopy eyelids (congenital ptosis) or it may develop as a person ages and the muscles deteriorate. In some cases ptosis is caused by trauma or damage to the muscles that raise the eyelids or the nerves that control these muscles. Sometimes, ptosis can be due to eye surgery or certain drugs. Other causes are neurological disorders, eye tumors or systemic diseases like diabetes.
Patients with drooping eyes need to see properlyso as to perform their daily work.
