In emergency situations in general, the use of tourniquets or haemorrhagic prevention systems can have a crucial impact on the number of deaths recorded. In war scenarios, most gunshot wounds are located in the upper or lower limbs and having a tourniquet available can save lives by allowing emergency team to arrive and be transferred to the nearest hospital. An open source tourniquet was developed and used in the field to test its benefits.
