Project description

Fractures or bone defects in the distal ulna can cause pain, instability, and limited wrist motion, often requiring complex surgical reconstruction. Current implants and prostheses are usually standardized, which can lead to poor anatomical adaptation and suboptimal functional recovery.

This project aims to develop a customized partial ulna prosthesis using additive manufacturing (3D printing) techniques. The proposed implant will be tailored to each patient’s anatomy, improving surgical precision, fixation stability, and postoperative functionality. The device is intended to support trauma surgery and rehabilitation in patients with partial ulna bone loss or deformity.
