The LiverTox is an in vitro testing platform, composed of a 3D construct of cells that mimic the human liver (hepatocytes, endothelial and stromal cells), on which extracts of potentially toxic endogenous plants can be tested. Ultimately, the platform can be used to test drug therapy for the cases of plant-induced hepatotoxicity.
