A stethoscope is an acoustic dependent medical device used by physicians to listen to internal sounds in humans as well as animals[1]. These sounds help a physicians determine type of condition one is suffering i.e wheezing sounds produced by patients having pneumonia or irregular heart beats .
its application is subject to errors due to the low volume sounds produced by internal organs which is often masked by noise.
Digitizing and amplifying this low volume signal may help complement a users diagnosis skill, this digitized signals can be recorded for later reference in order to monitor patient progress as per ISO/TR 20514:2005.
