Concept description

The proposed solution is to develop a face mask that can protect against any communicable diseases. The mask should be able to filter particles both small and large in order to effectively protect the user. The mask should also be comfortable to wear and foldable to make it easy to carry and reduce the risk of contact with the inner part of the mask.
The outer fabric material is made up of two batches of electrospun polymer fabric at zero electric field. Three batches of electrospun polymer at an electric field of 12-24 V DC.
These materials are then laid in five layers in this order:
Layer 1: Fabric polymer at zero electric field.
Layer 2-4: Fabric polymer at 12-24V DC electric field.
Layer 5: Fabric polymer at zero electric field.
These layered materials are cut into square pieces of 6cm * 6cm. One dimension of the squared pieces is then folded at the 2cm and 4cm points creating a 5-layered sheet with the dimensions 3.5cm * 6cm. The sheets are then stitched together.
