The project idea is to design a wearable device that transmits an elderly person’s location on request by the caretaker using an android-based smartphone app as tracker, the elderly person in distress as well can send a distress alert in case of danger to their caretaker for assistance. The caretaker with this device can also be notified when movement sensors are not detecting any movements in case of an incapacitating fall.
with this device, old persons with mobility and cognitive impairment or dementia can be kept safe.
