Quality criteria

The quality criteria for production of ptosis crutches is important, to ensure that the functional components of the final product meets the user needs. The current ptosis crutches have limitations such as skin irritation around the eyes or inability to blink the eye, hence causing drying of the cornea . To solve this problem, this device has considered the patient's needs and specifications, adjustability, material selection, safety, failure analysis and ergonomics to ensure production of quality ptosis crutches. This device can be evaluated by use of adjustable ptosis crutches to elevate the drooping upper eyelid. Elevation of eyelid above the visual axis, adjustability along the X and Y axes, comfort and modularity has also been considered by dividing each component of the ptosis crutches according to specific functions. The crutch bar can be adjusted to elevate the eye to about 2-5 mm depending on the user and adjusted along the Z-axis. This allows movement along the Z-axis, allows adjustment for globe projection, that is, movement along the Y-axis and movement along the X-axis and also allows eye blinking. This device is simple, affordable and effective for drooping upper eyelid without the need to undergo medical surgery or medication.
