GUNDUA-HLANGANISA: COVID-19 DIAGNOSIS USING ASSEMBLING METHOD FOR IMAGERY

GUNDUA-HLANGANISA: COVID-19 DIAGNOSIS USING ASSEMBLING METHOD FOR IMAGERY

Instructions for fabrication of prototypes

  1. Design and develop: The AI system is developed (using the chosen programming language) and tested on available data set acquired from secondary sources. A minimum level of accuracy, sensitivity and specificity should be set before adopting the AI system. Accuracy, sensitivity and specificity are to be measured with reference to the ground truth information that come with the secondary data. This is to be done offline.
  2. Interfacing: An app is developed and uploaded on a PC that is connected to the x-ray device.
  3. Digitization: Output from the x-ray scanner are digitized and exported to the PC with the app. Standard method for digitizing radio-graphic films is to be used.
  4. Demo and feedback: The app is subject to tests on ample COVID-19 samples (x-ray images taken from patients testing positive for corona virus) and control subject groups.
  5. Quality Assurance: This involves identification of defects in the app and resolving bugs, if any.
  6. Deployment: at this stage the app is fully deployed with ready made technical support.
