GUNDUA-HLANGANISA-is a deep learning-based AI system for the detection of COVID-19 characteristics on chest radiographs. The general purpose of the AI system is to interpret or analyse radiological images of patients for the purpose of routine diagnosis. Medical Applications include fast and accurate detection of covid-19, differentiate covid-19 from other lung diseases and monitor disease progression. It can be used in hospitals, freestanding clinics, physicians offices and urgent care centers.

Product description
The AI system for the detection of COVID-19 characteristics on chest radiographs consist of the below components:
1.       PC MONITOR FOR VIEWING X RAY IMAGES IN DIGITAL FORMAT
-High resolution 17″ (350 nits brightness) LCD screen
-Dust/liquid spillage protection with IP65-rated front bezel and IPX1 full enclosure with fanless, quiet operation
-Scalable CPU options with 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 or Celeron® processors with Intel® QM77 PCH chipset
-Web browser with internet connectivity

2.       Digital radiographic, X-ray table system will be required for generation of images with the below components:
-table unit; the Bucky film tray and grid system, the x-ray generator, the x-ray tube, housing, and suspension system, and the collimator or additionally a wireless flat-panel detector

Operating steps

•        The patient is prepped
•         The patient lies on the table or stands next to the upright  unit. and remain motionless
•         The system components are positioned, and the settings are checked
•         The operator takes the image by activating the x-ray beam using an exposure switch.
•        The operator repositions the patient if needed. Multiple images may be taken
·        A trained AI system interprets the images and provide results
