Noise Dampening Hospital Ward

Instructions for fabrication of prototypes

First, the recycled polypropylene fibres are sewn together to form a 4 mm thick fabric that will become the acoustic curtain's outer layer. The sewing will be done in a textile workshop, and the fabric will be given a hardened, smooth finish that meets infection control standards.
Next, polyurethane foam is shredded and mixed with shredded recycled textiles in a 3:2 foam to textile ratio to form a composite mixture. Two sheets made earlier from the polypropylene fibres are brought together to sandwich this composite mixture and then sewn together to form a 3 layered curtain.
Finally, rail wheels are fitted to both the top and bottom of the curtain.
