Currently available solutions for treating flat foot include:
Prefabricated orthotic:
Popularly known as ‘off the shelf’ insoles, these arch contour supports are intended to support the arch in most cases. They are easy to obtain; however, it would be impossible to get such tests made to measure for emergencies.
Particular orthotics:
Other types are usually more comfortable and supportive and designed with the individual’s foot shape and severity of flatfoot condition in mind. While rather helpful, creating these can be costly and a time hogging process.
Supportive footwear:
This is further described as footwear containing built in arch support perfect for people with flat feet. It is a more comprehensive method than the previously mentioned orthotic implant however it is not as efficient.
Physical therapy:
Besides orthotic devices some exercises can be recommended to strengthen the muscle which maintains the arch.
