Instructions for fabrication of prototypes

Below are the guidelines that were followed step by step in order to come up with the complete prototype for the project:
The guidelines were followed quite differently due to the different systems consisting of the device. The electronic components and the pneumatic components were connected following different paths to achieve the desired output.

  • First connection for the electronic system was made by connecting the power source with a step down voltage regulator to step down the power passing through the electronic circuit to 5V, to the Arduino (which requires 5V for operation).
  • From the Arduino the next component connected was the relay, then to the solenoid valve.
  • The pneumatic system was then connected as follows; The axial compressor was powered directly to the power source without having to step down the voltage.
  • From the compressor a connection to the air reservoir was made. The reservoir is then connected through the solenoid valves via the air pipes.
  • The final link through the solenoid valve via the air pipes was made to the inflatables.
